The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review of The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George

Oh I want to give this one a million stars! How it spoke to my wanderlust heart and validated a lot of feelings. I was led to this book on knowing the main character was someone who could look at a person and know which book they wanted, but on delving into the story I was exposed to far more lessons and warm hearted moments than I ever expected.

First of all I absolutely love the overthrowing of toxic masculinity and showing how men can have such deep and profound emotions and be able to express them freely! I adore Jean and Max's relationship, how it went from "this boy irritates me," to "this boy is now my son and I will protect him with my life." It was utterly pure and Max really is a cute cinnamon roll who needs a hug.

The honesty of life and love is so breathtaking. Each moment of hurt was raw and demanding and each moment of love was like a thousand fireworks being set off at once. The letters Jean wrote to Catherine took my breath away and I definitely shed more than a few tears! I adored the transparency of how life can be, from what you feel when you're sat in front of your favourite meal to the fond look in your eyes you get at a cat stretched out in the sun.

This book has my heart and soul and I utterly adore it. Thank you Nina for such a delightful read! It is definitely one to heal a weary soul.
